Additional Resources
In North Carolina
The Faith and Leadership site is offered by the Leadership Education department at Duke Divinity School. It contains details and application information on a variety of leadership programs for clergy, including Courage to Serve.
In the United States and Abroad
- Center for Courage and Renewal is a nonprofit organization that helps people connect who they are with what they do, and that institutionalized the Circles of Trust approach upon which Courage to Serve is modeled. The site contains information about programs and evaluations of the Circles of Trust model.
- The Fetzer Institute focuses on research and education to determine how love and compassion can affect transformation and healing for individuals and communities. The site includes information on programs and resources for reading and discussion.
- "A Hidden Wholeness: The Journey Toward an Undivided Life," a book by Parker Palmer, is available through Amazon.com and other booksellers. Palmer is the creator of the Circles of Trust model.
Evaluation
Because Courage to Serve was derived from the Circles of Trust model, which has undergone several studies of effectiveness, The Duke Endowment did not conduct its own evaluation of the program.
