Eligibility

Higher Education

In keeping with the directions given by Mr. Duke in his Indenture of Trust, the Endowment awards education grants to four institutions: Davidson College, Duke University, Furman University, and Johnson C. Smith University.

Although any school, division, department, or project of these eligible institutions can be considered for Endowment funding, the Endowment does not accept grant proposals from individual academic units or faculty members. Grant proposals from Duke University are coordinated and submitted through the Office of the Provost, while grant proposals from each of the other three eligible institutions are coordinated and submitted through the Office of the President.
