Focusing on the Needs of Young Victims

2_Cindy_Edwards_SMALL As director of the Southeastern Family Violence Center, Cindy Edwards uses the skills she learned through training supported by The Duke Endowment to help children receive specialized care to overcome the effects of domestic violence.

To help children who are victims of domestic violence and living in shelters, The Duke Endowment granted $200,000 for a yearlong project to train shelter staff to screen and treat children for post-traumatic stress and other mental health issues.
