The Duke Endowment occasionally holds events related to our grantmaking and to our program area work in child care, health care, higher education and rural church. We also post handouts and presentations from previous events on this website. View upcoming events below, or browse our archive to access resources and materials from previous events.
Now through October 31, 2010, the Duke Clergy Health Initiative is enrolling clergy in Spirited Life, its multi-year health and wellness program and behavioral health study.
Funded by The Duke Endowment and cast within a framework of Wesleyan theology and spirituality, Spirited Life will provide clergy with the tools needed to manage stress; learn to care for the body in a healthy, mindful way; and find spiritual renewal.
This holistic health program is offered free of charge to clergy serving under appointment to a local church or on conference staff in the North Carolina and Western North Carolina Conferences of the United Methodist Church. Individuals who participated in the Clergy Health Initiative pilot program have already received services, and therefore are not eligible for Spirited Life.
