• NC Prevention Partners helps hospitals statewide reduce preventable illness and early death caused by tobacco use, poor nutrition, physical inactivity and obesity. The website for the Focus on Hospitals initiative includes tools for tobacco-free hospitals and healthy food environments.
• North Carolina Hospital Association represents 135 hospitals and health networks, promoting improved community health and quality of health care. The website includes a health care terms glossary, Patient Bill of Rights and community benefits reports.

In the United States and Abroad

• Health Care Without Harm is an international coalition of hospitals and health care systems, medical professionals, community groups and others promoting an ecologically sustainable health care sector. The website includes case studies, fact sheets and recent reports.

Evaluation

The Duke Endowment is committed to a continuous review of its grants and initiatives. All projects are assessed for effectiveness, stewardship and alignment with mission. The University of North Carolina School of Medicine Nicotine Dependence Program evaluated the results UNC Health Care achieved participating in the Healthy Hospitals program.
