At the 2010 Small and Rural Hospital Conference, Dr. James Bentley discussed health care reform and its implications for small hospitals.

Small hospitals that provide key medical services to rural residents — in some cases, to those who might not have access to any other health care providers — face increasing financial challenges that ultimately can impact their ability to provide quality care. To support the quality of health care in rural communities, The Duke Endowment seeks to strengthen hospitals in North Carolina and South Carolina.
