The Duke Endowment is pleased to announce that Ellie Smith has been promoted to Program Officer with its Health Care grantmaking team.
Smith joined the Endowment in March 2024 as a Program Analyst with the Health Care team and has been instrumental in supporting the development of new initiatives.
A native of Reno, Nevada, she graduated from Santa Clara University in California and earned a master’s degree in Global Epidemiology Disease and Control from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She worked as a graduate research assistant at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, and also as a research associate for Denver Health in Colorado. Immediately prior to joining the Endowment, she served as a pediatric clinical research coordinator for Atrium Health in Charlotte, N.C.
“Ellie has become an invaluable member of the Health Care team, and we are so happy to see her take this next step in her career at The Duke Endowment,” said Lin Hollowell, director of the Endowment’s Health Care program area.
