Weeks has a dedicated healthcare career as a cardiologist, sleep medicine specialist and medical researcher. He started his career at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C., as assistant chief of medicine and director of intern training, and was awarded Teacher of the Year. In Charlotte, N.C., he co-founded Mid Carolina Cardiology and served as Board Chairman of Novant Health. He was editor in chief of the American College of Cardiology website for sleep apnea and Governor of the N.C. Chapter of the American College of Cardiology. Weeks served as a Trustee of Davidson College and was honored with the Alumni Service Award. He also received the Medical Alumni Service Award from Duke School of Medicine. He also served as a Board Member of Physicians Impact Fund at Presbyterian Hospital Foundation. He works with the Davidson College Research Initiative and continues to mentor pre-med students statewide.
