Improving Health and Wellness

Improving Health and Wellness
Lin Hollowell, director of The Duke Endowment's Health Care program area, explains our approach to grantmaking in this ever-changing field.

As the health care field continues to evolve into a comprehensive, service-delivery system and as advancements in medicine and medical education allow people with chronic diseases to live longer lives, a variety of barriers to health remain. We aim to remove those barriers and improve the lives of individuals in North Carolina and South Carolina.

We seek to accomplish lasting change by working to expand prevention and early intervention programs, to improve the quality and safety of services, and to increase access to care.
